Our Picks: Palm Beach County Attractions
While most of the emphasis for a home buyer when searching for a home is on finding the home itself, there are so many conveniences and amenities that our area has to offer that are also very important to the decision making process. Thankfully, one of areas of coverage is Palm Beach County, where there’s a lot to love. Stein Posner’s agents list and sell plenty of prime Palm Beach County real estate, so we know this better than anyone. Here are just a few of our favorite things to do in the area, among so many others.
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center
Stein Posner is based in Boca Raton, so it probably comes as no surprise that we’re big fans of Boca’s own Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. The park is known for its Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center and visitors can also enjoy a walk through the butterfly garden, see other marine life and animals and stroll along a beautiful elevated boardwalk amongst cypress groves on the Intracoastal waterway.
Let’s just assume we love everything Boca Raton has to offer, shall we? That said, we couldn’t resist including one of our favorite places for shopping, eating and entertainment in our list — Mizner Park. It’s not uncommon to find our team catching a movie, watching a live performance or presentation (such as the most recent TEDx talks or the upcoming Cyndi Lauper concert), browsing the specialty shops or enjoying a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants.
Lion Country Safari
This Palm Beach County drive-through safari is undoubtedly one of Palm Beach County’s most popular attractions. You can get up close and personal with a lion (while enclosed in your vehicle, of course) or spend some time feeding a giraffe. Visitors can also enjoy animal shows and numerous animal exhibits from outside of their vehicles.
Head up to West Palm Beach’s CityPlace to enjoy everything from excellent food to live music. People love the fountain shows that take place every half hour, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.
Boca Raton Museum of Art
There are a wealth of museums in Palm Beach County (and quite a few just in Boca Raton alone), and the Boca Raton Museum of Art is one of our favorites. In addition to a wide-array of exhibitions, the museum also offers a variety of activities, including art classes.
The Flagler Museum
If your artsy side still isn’t satisfied, or perhaps you’re more of a historian, we definitely recommend taking a trip to the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. Then known as the Whitehall, the magnificent estate was built by Henry Flagler in 1902. Today, it’s a National Historic Landmark which hosts guided tours and numerous changing exhibits. In our opinion, the trip is worth it just to see the enchanting property.
Keep in mind that these are just a few of the many exciting attractions in Palm Beach County. Our list could certainly go on and on — after all, we didn’t even list the most obvious Palm Beach County attraction: the beaches and amazing parks.
